    Ideas for marine biology paper

Any suggestions? It can be on pretty much anything. Needs to be about 10 pages. I must make use of scientific journals, so it can't be some obscure topic nobody has ever researched. I've gotten some good ideas for paper from here before, so I thought I would give it another go. Thanks in advance.

Nah......you don't want to do that. (says the person who spent 5 years working on the defense of that case )

I wrote mine on Odobenus rosmarus divergens. Fascinating animals.

Truth - someone in my office accidentally sent that picture to a very conservative female atty who is also in our office. Not only was she squeaky conservative but she was the head of our anit-sexual harassment group. Needless to say she was not amused and he was brought up before the "HR Authorities."

Who was it who first posted the 'Linkin Park as real metal' thread? That was a true stroke of genius.

Deep sea fishes have evolved such that conserved cellular signaling processes (e.g., G-protein coupled receptor mediated pathways)are, in some cases, regulated by hydrostatic pressure. This is cool in that it has allow some fish to survive in deeper water (along with the comcomitant development to resistance to cold, etc.) where they can access new food sources and escape predators. It serves as another example of the myriad ways that this class of receptors can be modulated. As a paper it would mix elements of ecology, evolution, and cell/molecular biology. Plenty of recent papers on the topic, too. Have fun!
